Kali River

Description:

The Kali river flows from north west Karnataka to the Arabian sea near Karwar. It must have been a beautiful river (must have, because it has been dammed multiple times).
The kayaking stretch is close to the town of Dandeli. This is one of the few rivers that can be run post monsoon, due to releases from the Supa dam. The only unreliable element is that there are no schedules for release of water from the dam.

Places to stay:

There are several resorts in and around Dandeli and Ganeshgudi. Jungle lodges has a forest camp in Ganeshgudi (Old Magazine Road) that is quite close. There is also a Horn-Bill Resort ( just after the first rapid ) and Bison River Lodge ( just above the first rapid ), both of which are by the riverside and very convenient.
